Well, the top photo is a stretch of the imagination but at the current rate, the Park will look like this soon. Below are some thumbnail images showing the scenery around Langan Lake. Click on them for a bigger view. MOBILE CITY CODE >> Chapter 25 - GARBAGE, LITTER AND LOT MAINTENANCE >> ARTICLE II. - LITTER >> Section 25-36 (a) "It shall be the duty of every occupant of any commercial premises in the city limits to keep the adjacent and surrounding area clear and free of litter." Underlining is my emphasis and not in the existing code. Here is some documentation of violations of City of Mobile Municipal Code. These are your Good Neighbors who ignore litter on their property. No wonder why people are so miserable here in Mobile, Alabama. Look at the scenery. It is depressing as hell!
If you ever wondered how so much trash ends up polluting the shoreline of Three Mile Creek down by Mobile Infirmary and Lake Drive Tricentennial Park, just take a look the Langan Park Lake trash dump. Storm water litter that never gets removed in the Park only keeps making its way further downstream, one flooding rain at a time. Below Photos: Click on any thumbnail to bring up a larger image photo gallery with commentary. So I went back to Municipal Park today - three weeks after the last big rain. Guess what? Municipal Park Lakes are garbage dumps like all the rest of Mobile's waterways. No one has removed the trash yet.
New Mobile City Council member C. J. Small recently sent out mail saying the City's Urban Development Department will be going throughout his district enforcing codes by issuing citations. CJ Small should have the Urban Development Department issue a citations to the Mobile Parks Department for litter code violations. Here are some photos taken around Municipal Park today. Does it seems like there is a trash problem in every one of Mobile's waterways? Scroll Down For More More Ugly Photos related to the Dog River Watershed.
